Wedding Bliss

It was the perfect day for a beautiful wedding, and the bride was stunning.  It also happened to be on Cinco de Mayo, so why not throw in a few sombreros and margaritas to mark the occasion. Thank you to Michelle and Jeremy for allowing my family to be apart of such a special time in your life.

"Honey Do"

This spring has kept me super busy, but I found a few minutes to share a few photos from a recent "Honey Do" shower for our dear friends Michelle and Jeremy. It was so much fun planning and creating all the little touches to make it a fun filled shower. A special thank you to De-a and Angie who put up with my insanity. I hope that it will inspire you to get a little more crafty at your next shower.

I used chalkboard spray paint and leftover wood my husband had for our chalkboard signs,
and as luck would have it the venue had the cutest table and chair to make the perfect entrance for our quest.

Potted plants are great for table setting, especially when you are on a tight budget.
I  purchased a few small pots from our local Walmart and spray painted them yellow to
match our color scheme. We made our arrangement with flower purchased
at our local Lowes. Fast, easy, super cute and great for your wallet.

My  mom and I made these cute moss covered letters.
I found some inexpensive card board letters and we
hot glued moss purchased from our local craft store.
We used green ribbon to hang them for our entrance.

My mother made the beautiful arrangement out of her garden flowers.
It was stunning and perfect that we got a hook up.

While guest books are great, having something to
sit on your bookshelf or mantle to remember is even better,
We had each guest sign the "we" for the happy couple to be.

And last but not least we had a slider bar with all the fixings and finished it off with an ice cream bar that was out of this world delicious.

A Season of Love - Part 2

Our little man was born at one of the most exciting times of year, football season! My husband and I love this time of year, we can't wait to host football parties. We invite everyone we know and set up camp in the man cave feasting on wings, nachos and cold beverages. This year was even more special than years past, because it was our son Merritt's first birthday.  What better way to ring in the season than to mix football with a birthday celebrations.

While I have ambitions of being the next Amy Atlas, I don't quite have her budget. Thankfully both my husband and I share a creative brain so we come up with a plan, and we scoured the craft stores along with getting some help from friends and family. My mother made the most precious and delicious decorated cookies while one of my best friend's mother, Debbie Hames, baked the cutest football cake ever. I also had the most adorable shirt made for him, by Cookie Bear Wear. My husband built mini bleachers which turned out perfect for the food tables. Our neighbor Natalie helped us set up and decorate cupcakes and the best Aunt and Uncle ever, Bryan and Diane let us use their new and fabulous outdoor space to host our party. We had a make your own slider bar with all the fixings and plenty of refreshments for all ages. What transpired was lots of love, fun, and one very cute birthday celebration with family and friends from near and far.

A special thank you to all who made Merritt's First birthday so special.

And last but not least
my mother, Louretta West for always inspiring me to be creative
and my husband and Grill Master Chef, Matt Jankun
for supporting me in whatever craziness I come up with.

A Season of Love - Part 1

Fall has come and gone, well at least for today, as it is super cold out this morning. While I have been super busy, things have slowed down for just a bit giving me enough time to start sharing with you all what I have been up to these past few months.

This past October, I was asked to help plan and coordinate my very first Wedding in only 8 weeks. WOW!  I was able to design invitations, programs, favors, and tags; as well as assit the the bride and coordinate with multiple vendors for what turned out to be a beautiful fall wedding. With my trusty and supportive husband by my side, going from 7am until midnight, moving furniture, decorating and making sure everyone was in place; it was one exciting and adrenaline fueled day.  I seriously can't wait for the opportunity to do it again and only continue to learn and build upon my skills. So if you know anyone getting married, please pass along my name. And while my photography skills needs some improvement, New Year's Resolution #1, here is a peak of part 1 of my Season of Love series. Enjoy.

A place to catalog things you love.

Are you one of those Internet surfers who downloads gobs of picture all to be stored on your hard drive and never found again? If you are anything like me, you really did have good intentions, but the time it consumes searching the numerous folders and files is unbearable. Well search no more, you can feel confident emptying your hard drive and storing everything online using Pinterest. If you are wondering...No, they do not sell your information to third parties or ask you to give your phone number or your next of kin. This website allows you to customize your very own inspiration boards, categorized to your personal taste.

Make any category your heart desires, from home décor, recipes, photography and my personal favorite How-TOs and DIY tutorials. The ideas are endless. It is so easy to use, that one click of the mouse and it takes you directly to where you found the source–just make sure to give credit where credit is due. The most fun of all is that you can follow your friends and their friends and they can follow you. You can even follow a perfect stranger who has great taste. Hopefully I have inspired you to start pinning today.
